Smoothie Love

The housemate and I have been enjoying a daily green smoothie upon his arrival from work, which has been the perfect midday snack. In recent years, I strayed away from having a daily morning smoothie with breakfast, for unknown reasons (probably time management since I'm usually frantically trying to get out the door to work every morning). So I've been glad to reintroduce the green smoothie into my daily life. 

Since the housemate has been more creative with this smoothie recipes than I had been in the past. My favorite has been one that incorporates pistachio butter
I'm still working on perfecting a recipe that my friend Katie gave me that includes matcha and tahini! (I am enjoying exploring all these different nut/seed butters!). However, between recipe testing, I have been enjoying this pistachio green smoothie, which has been consistently delicious. 

Tom's Green Pistachio Power Smoothie serving size: one 
Ingredients: 
a handful of fresh spinach
a small handful of fresh mint
1/2 frozen banana 
a serving of your protein powder of choice (chocolate or vanilla flavor both work)
1 cup water
optional: 1 tbs hemp/flax/chia seeds, power greens powder
Directions: 
1. Add all the ingredients into a blender. 
2. Blend well until smooth. 
3. Enjoy!
